From Asylums to Recovery: The Italian Model of Community Mental Health in a European Perspective
On 15 September 2026, EUCOMS brings its annual on-location seminar to Brescia, hosted in collaboration with the IRCCS Saint John of God Clinical Research Centre. This is a rare opportunity to explore the Italian model up close – through expert presentations, open discussion, and a direct visit to community mental health services in the city.
The seminar takes place the day before the EPA Congress (16-19 September, Brescia), making it easy to combine both in one visit.

Registration
Participation is open to mental health professionals, researchers, policymakers, and anyone with an interest in community-based mental health care. The registration fee is €75 for non-Full Participants and non-Italian participants. Full Participants of the EUCOMS Network benefit from a free participation.

IRCCS Saint John of God Clinical Research Centre (Istituto Centro San Giovanni di Dio Fatebenefratelli) is a leading Italian clinical research institution based in Brescia. It combines psychiatric research with direct clinical services, with a strong focus on evidence-based, person-centred mental health care. The IRCCS is a co-organiser of this seminar and will host the site visits to local community services.
